Tip #5: Look at what others do and find your way

July 19, 2018

Do you have a good idea for a digital initiative, but are overwhelmed by having to start at square one? First, take a step back and get a good overview of the issue, challenge, or opportunity you’re seeking to address. Don’t reinvent the wheel: consider existing digital models and solutions already available—you may discover some of these are applicable or adaptable to your situation. Once you’ve explored what might already exist for you to use, adapt, or build on, it may make sense to consider how our Digital Strategy Fund can help you.

Here are some useful questions to ask yourself:

  • Have others already encountered issues, challenges, or opportunities similar to the ones you’re facing?
  • What other solutions or models have been proposed to address your issue or challenge, and are already in use?
  • What can you learn from the experiences of others?

See initiatives that received support and made various existing models their own.
