Expanding the Virtual Reach of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Only Symphony Orchestra

The NSO Everywhere project helps the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra (NSO) reach all corners of the province with a huge range of accessible and dynamic classical music programming.

Giving music a grand (virtual) stage

As the province’s only symphony, the NSO has a mandate that covers over 400,000 square kilometres. Until COVID-19 shut down in-person performances, no avenue existed to bring the St. John’s-based orchestra to all corners of Newfoundland and Labrador. While NSO Everywhere began so that they could keep performing during pandemic lockdown, the NSO is now building a virtual presence into its permanent plans for the future.

Bringing classical music to the masses

The NSO is expanding its successful fall 2020 pilot project of online concerts through immersive video and audio presentations that can be streamed to audiences across the province and around the world. No matter if you’re in the front row in St. John’s or in your living room in Churchill Falls, the NSO is the symphony for all of Newfoundland and Labrador. NSO Everywhere helps fulfil that potential.
