Publishing house Nimbus invites young readers to share their impressions about the books published in the Atlantic provinces.

Young literary ambassadors in Atlantic Canada

Nimbus Publishing has designed a digital engagement strategy—the Public Youth Engagement Strategy—to encourage young people aged 13–25 to read books published in Atlantic Canada. The strategy is based on a compilation of online data on the reading habits of young people, their familiarity with publications from Atlantic Canada, and their online media preferences. The strategy also aims to develop youth engagement beyond simply reading by helping them become literary critics and ambassadors.

Stimulating young people’s interest in their heritage

In partnership with local publishers in the Atlantic provinces, youth ambassadors will participate in creating blogs, vlogs, animated GIFs, memes, stop-motion animation videos, photo montages, and film trailers inspired by books published in the Atlantic provinces. Nimbus hopes to ensure the long-term viability of the region’s book publishers and stimulate young people’s interest in their social, digital, and cultural heritage.
