Canada Dance Mapping Study: Literature Review
This report presents a view of dance in all its contexts -- politically, economically, ecologically, technologically, socially and artistically. The literature reviewed included a comprehensive bibliography of sources, both qualitative and quantitative, as well as international sources of literature which informed the analysis of gaps in Canadian literature. This literature review represents the first phase of research for the overall Canada Dance Mapping Study which serves to map the presence of dance in Canada – including a better understanding of the full scope of dance activity in all regions of the country.
The study is funded by the Canada Council for the Arts with an additional financial contribution from the Ontario Arts Council.
