La Maison des artistes visuels francophones is restructuring to improve its services and promote the visual arts of francophones in Manitoba.

A major organization for francophone Manitoba

Founded in Winnipeg in 2000, la Maison des artistes visuels francophones is a cultural springboard for French-speaking contemporary artists. It seeks to narrow the linguistic gap through rich artistic programming. In order to expand its mission, the organization’s executive is restructuring the Maison’s services and spaces.

Better working conditions for artists

The restructuring, which aims to optimize and grow the organization’s human resources, will provide better benefits and a retirement plan. Its objectives also include increasing the budget for the studio component of the programming, paying emerging artists appropriately and expanding the organization’s artists’ centre (2023–2024). These moves will enable the Maison to provide more educational activities and implement a residency program.
