Real Dreams: An Exhibition of Video Works Operating Between Dream and Reality

A Yukon landscape.

The Cold Cuts Video Festival’s 2021 exhibition, Real Dreams, presents the works of five Canadian artists on dreams and reality.

Transforming dreams into tangible action

The Cold Cuts Video Festival exhibits the video works of Canadian and foreign contemporary artists every spring in Dawson City, Yukon. Entitled Real Dreams, the 2021 edition presented the works of five Canadian artists. Their works explore the space between dreams and realities, and how these concepts intersect with communities, landscapes, politics and identity. In turn, their works investigate ways to transform all these concepts into tangible action.

Collaborating for greater visibility

Real Dreams took place over three days in collaboration with the Dawson City International Short Film Festival. The event included two video installations at the gallery and three others outdoors, which enabled the artists to gain more visibility and reach a broader local audience.
