Photography Artists Tour Gaspésie with Exhibition “Iran : Poésies visuelles”
The 10th edition of the Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie featured an exhibition of contemporary Iranian photography focussed on diversity, openness, and dialogue.
Discovering Iranian photography along the Gaspé coast
Through summer 2019, the 10th edition of the Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie brought together the works of renowned Iranian photographers and six acclaimed Iranian films, which were shown at indoor and open-air theatres. In addition, the Rencontres invited 10 Iranian artists to take part in discussions and exhibitions.
International photography-focussed dialogue
The 2019 Rencontres’ programming presented never-before-seen projects and special commissions created by Canadian and foreign artists. The artists taking part in the event had conversations on new avenues for photography across Quebec, Canada, Europe and the United States. A grant under the Foreign Artist Tours component supported the Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie in their exploration of the poetic aspect of Iranian photography.
