Meta4 Music Creates Networks in the Canary Islands, New York City and Louisiana

This Alberta-based agency specializing in folk and world music was active at the WOMEX and APAP events, as well as at the Festival international de Louisiane in Lafayette.

Travelling where it matters

Some 2,000 music industry professionals from over 90 countries gather annually at the WOMEX professional expo. The last one was held in the Canary Islands. Ian Menzies, from Meta4 Music, was on site to represent Steve Dawson, the Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Balaklava Blues and Kiran Ahluwalia. He repeated the experience a few months later in New York City, where he visited the APAP expo, another large-scale event where he worked to create touring opportunities for the artists he represents. He has tasked himself with the same mandate for the Festival international de Louisiane, where the Lemon Bucket Orkestra performed for the first time.

Crossing borders between genres

Enjoying the multidisciplinary aspect of the APAP professional expo in New York City, Ian Menzies highlighted the musical and theatrical qualities of Lemon Bucket Orkestra performances. The Orkestra wows concert hall and theatre programmers alike, bringing together two very different audiences.
