New Work and a New Location at the Heart of Trois-Rivières for Les Sages Fous

The flagship puppet theatre company created a new show and presented their 9th Saison de théâtre insolite.

Trois-Rivières—a puppet theatre hub thanks to Les Sages Fous

In addition to presenting their biennial Saison de théâtre insolite and producing their biennial Micro-Festival de marionettes inachevées—whose 2018 edition was a phenomenal success—this past year Les Sages Fous also created a new play, Le cercle de l’étrange (working title) while their show Tricyckle continued its national and international tour. Trois-Rivières has been the central creative space of Les Sages Fous for 18 years, and they are now working to establish themselves even more successfully by setting up the Fabrique de théâtre insolite.

On the way to the Fabrique de théâtre insolite

The Des Récollets/Saint-James complex, where Les Sages Fous’ workshop is located, is about to be remodelled into the Fabrique de théâtre insolite. This will be both a creative space welcoming artist residencies and a dissemination space with an intimate 100-seat hall and an exhibition room. Les Sages Fous plan to use it to present the work of international artists, such as Dutch company ’T Magisch’s the Panta Rhei show.
