Peter Dwyer Scholarships

Recognizing dance and theatre students

Overview

The Peter Dwyer Scholarships are awarded to students at the National Ballet School and the National Theatre School of Canada.

Canada’s National Ballet School and the National Theatre School select the recipients annually.

Scholarship amounts

The Canada Council allocates a maximum of $10,000 (per school) is allocated to recipients from each of the two schools.

Background

Peter Dwyer played a prominent role in the creation and development of the Canada Council for the Arts. In establishing these scholarships, he chose to reward dance and theatre students.
