The Jean A. Chalmers Fund for the Crafts supports many special initiatives of the Canadian crafts community.
What is this prize?
The Jean A. Chalmers Fund for the Crafts assists non-profit visual arts and fine craft organizations and fine crafts professionals in undertaking projects that contribute to an understanding of the fine crafts in Canada via three program components:
- research and policy development assistance (for organizations and individuals)
- special project assistance (for organizations)
- pre-publication assistance (for organizations)
Who created this prize?
This fund was established in 1985 with a contribution from the late Mrs. Chalmers, who left a $500,000 endowment to the Canada Council for the Arts.
