The Regina Symphony Orchestra: A Key Player in Community Cultural Life

The Regina Symphony Orchestra is fulfilling its musical mission while contributing to education and building relationships with its community.

Playing an educational and unifying role

With more than 100 seasons under its belt and a rock-solid reputation, the Regina Symphony Orchestra has a strong and active presence among Saskatchewanians. In 2019, more than 2,500 elementary-school students from grades 3 to 6 took part in its Link Up! educational program, learning music with members of the orchestra and performing at a concert at the end of the school year.

Presenting symphony music in smaller communities

The Orchestra has secured key partners with a view to reaching diverse communities. In collaboration with a First Nations advisory committee, it put together programming intended for young Indigenous people. The Orchestra also hopes to continue its Music on the Road program, through which it provides smaller communities in the province with the experience of live symphony music.
