Founded in 1994, Acorn Press publishes some 10 books every year in a variety of genres—poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and children’s literature. Its publications bear witness to the Island’s history. The publisher’s seasoned editors from varied backgrounds mentor both established authors and new literary voices.

Supporting a diverse generation of emerging authors and giving voice to minorities

Acorn Press focusses on lesser-known authors and diverse cultural expressions, including Mi’kmaq legends, as they seek to nurture the next generation of Island writers.
