Searching for Funding Opportunities

Introduction

This is a step-by-step guide for browsing and filtering funding opportunities in the portal. Searching for funding opportunities will enable you to identify and apply for those that best align with your specific needs.

Navigate to the Funding Opportunities

Access the Funding Opportunities screen to browse available opportunities.

  • In the navigation bar, click Browse Funding and Prizes.

Note: The Funding Opportunities screen can be accessed by both guest users and signed-in portal users. 

  • The system displays the Funding Opportunities screen with the Funding Opportunity cards. Initially, the system displays funding opportunities in Open, Closed and Suspended status.
  • The Funding Opportunity cards display the following information about the funding opportunity:
    • Funding Opportunity Type (Grant or Prize)
    • Status (Open, Closed or Suspended status)
    • Funding Opportunity Name
    • Maximum Funding Amount
    • One-sentence summary of the funding opportunity
    • Learn More for more information

    • Note: Only a limited number of funding opportunities will be displayed at first. Click View More Funding Opportunities at the end of the results to display more opportunities.

  • Click Learn More in the Funding Opportunity card to view more information about the funding opportunity.
  • The system displays the Funding Opportunities screen, with detailed information about the funding opportunity: description, who can apply, eligible activities, assessment criteria, required information and materials, funding details and deadline.
  • Click Apply Now to initiate the application process. Detailed instructions provided in E-APP-002: Applying for a Grant.

Search and Filter Funding Opportunities

Explore and refine your search for funding opportunities.

  • Complete the Search and Filter section on the Funding Opportunities screen and click Apply filters. Enter a keyword in the search field to search for a specific funding opportunity. Use the various filters to narrow down the search results.
  • Click Reset filters to return to the default view of the filters.

Note: The default view of the filters in the Search and Filter section is as follows:

  • The Funding For, Applicant Profile, Activity and Artistic Practice drop-down menus are set to “All.”
  • Funding Opportunity Type: All checkboxes are checked
  • Open and Closed are checked. Suspended is unchecked.
  • First Nations, Inuit and Metis: Checkbox is unchecked.
  • Official language minority communities: Checkbox is unchecked.
