Requesting Application Assistance

Introduction

This is a step-by-step guide on how to request Application Assistance to help cover costs for services that support the application and nomination process (e.g., create a portal account, submit an application, etc.).

You can request Application Assistance as an individual or as the lead applicant for a group who self-identifies as:

  • Deaf, hard of hearing, having a disability or living with mental illness; or
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis facing language, geographic and/or cultural barriers.

Request Application Assistance as a guest user

Steps to requesting Application Assistance

  1. Navigate to the Canada Council for the Arts portal screen.
  2. Select Help in the top navigation header.
  3. The system displays the Help – Log a Case screen, where you will be able to request Application Assistance by logging a case.

Note: In addition to the top navigation header, the Help screen can also be accessed from the Need help? box that is found on multiple screens on the portal.

Complete the following fields on the Help screen:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Select your preferred language (English or French).
  • Select a relevant topic in the I need help with… section
  • Select Application Assistance (for applicants who are Deaf, have disabilities, or are First Nations, Inuit or Métis) as your category.
  • Enter a subject.
  • Enter a description.
  • Attach files to your request (if applicable).
  • Click the Submit button to log a case for Application Assistance.

Request Application Assistance as a logged-in user

Steps to requesting Application Assistance

  1. Navigate to the Canada Council for the Arts portal screen.
  2. Click Help in the top navigation header.
  3. The system displays the Help – Log a Case screen, where you will be able to request Application Assistance by logging a case.

  • Select a relevant topic in the I need help with… section.
  • Select Application Assistance (for applicants who are Deaf, have disabilities, or First Nations, Inuit or Métis) as your category.
  • Search and select the relevant account (if applicable).
  • Enter a subject.
  • Enter a description.
  • Attach files to your request (if applicable).
  • Click the Submit button to log a case for Application Assistance.

Note: If your request for Application Assistance is approved, it will be added as a profile to your account, so you won’t need to request it again in the future.
