Completing and Managing your Account

Introduction
This guide will assist you through the process of completing and managing your Canada Council for the Arts applicant portal account.
Prerequisites
Complete Account Information
Account Name and Preferred Language are the only two required fields to have an active account; you can complete the rest of the fields now or at a later stage. You will be asked to review and complete your account details during the funding application process, when you complete the Account Information form.
- From the navigation bar, select My Account in the Account drop-down menu.
- The system displays your My Account screen.
- Click the pencil icon () next to the field you wish to edit.
- Complete the Account Details fields:
- Name: Enter your preferred first and last names
- Alias: Enter your alias or professional name (if applicable)
- Preferred Language: Select English or French (once saved, the portal will default to the language you select)
- Pronouns: Select your pronouns
- Principal Artistic Practice: Select your principal artistic practice
- Complete the Citizenship Status and Year of Birth fields:
- Citizenship Status: Select your citizenship status
- Year of Birth: Enter your year of birth
- Complete the Contact Information fields:
- Permanent Address: Enter your permanent address
- Mailing is the Same: Check this box if your mailing address matches your permanent address. The permanent address you provided will be duplicated in the mailing address field.
- Mailing Address: Enter your mailing address if it is different from your permanent address
- Website: Enter your website (if applicable)
- Phone: Enter your primary phone number
- Other Phone: Enter another phone number (if applicable)
- Email: Enter your email address
- Complete the Social Media fields, as relevant to your artistic practice:
- Social Media Info 1: Enter your social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook)
- Social Media Info 2: Enter your social media
- Social Media Info 3: Enter your social media
- Click the Save button to save your information
Access Key Account Data
Your My Account screen includes the following tabs:
- Details is where your Account Details, Citizenship & year of birth, Contact Information and Social Media sections are displayed. The Details tab should be kept up to date. It ensures that we can connect with you when needed.
- Self-ID is where you can find the self-identification form and your strategic options. It helps us understand who we support, which communities and groups have better representation within the Canadian art sector. It may open other opportunities for support.
- Granting Eligibility is where the applicant profile forms and any applicant profiles that you previously attested to are displayed. You must complete the form. Certain funding opportunities require you to have an active applicant profile. You can attest to applicant profiles in this form. Alternatively, you will be prompted to attest to a profile required for the funding opportunity while applying.
- Payment is where you can find your payment history and upcoming scheduled payments. Be sure your banking information is up to date. If your funding application is successful, you will have to enter your bank details in due course.
Your My Account screen also includes other useful sections:
- Groups/Organization Membership: If you are also a member of a group or organization, this is where you can see the list of your added group and/or organization accounts. Click the Account hyperlink to navigate between your group and organization’s accounts.
- Applications: This is where you can find the list of all your applications. Click the Application ID hyperlink to navigate to your Applications screen.
- Funding Awards: This is where you will find a list of your funding awards. Click the Name hyperlink to navigate to the Funding awards screen.
- Cases: This is where you can find the list of your cases. Click the Case Number hyperlink to navigate to the Cases screen.
- Third-party access: This is where you can find a list of applications and funding awards that have been provided a third-party access. Click the Applications or Funding Awards hyperlink to navigate to the Applications or the Funding Awards screens.
Note: To expand the related list and to view additional information, click View All for each list.
