Sesabίnsan & Kegόn / Threads & Things
Presented as part of the Resistant Fibres exhibition, Sesabίnsan & Kegόn / Threads & Things is a series of activities that celebrate cultural expression while highlighting the creativity, community-building and collaborative spirit central to fibre-based art practices.
All activities are free and take place at the Canada Council Âjagemô Exhibition Space, at 150 Elgin Street, in Ottawa.
Collaborative textile creation in Âjagemô
Join Ottawa-based artist Greta Grip for a special, hands-on workshop, where you’ll co-create a collaborative textile piece inspired by yarn-bombing. This collective creation will weave together textile voices from coast to coast to coast, forming a powerful shared statement at the heart of the Resistant Fibres exhibition.
Curator Julie Graff will share insights about the exhibition and connect with participants.
This interactive installation will be organized in conjunction with Ontario Culture Days.

Come alone or with a friend and enjoy creating together! Tables and chairs will be set up in the Âjagemô Exhibition Space, where participants are invited to bring their own materials to knit, bead, crochet, embroider and exchange skills and inspiration.
On select days, guest artists will join the space to demonstrate techniques, discuss their practice and share their creative process—all in a relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone is encouraged to learn, connect and make things together.
