Exploring Artistic Programming for Children and Youth in Canada

To date, few studies have analyzed national public participation in the theater for young audiences and children's festival sector in Canada. In an effort to address this, last year, we embarked on a research project to answer the following questions:
- What are the regional factors affecting participation?
- How does audience age impact programming and participation?
- What roles do teachers and schools play in bolstering attendance?
- How has the emergence of new technologies and social media impacted the sector?
- What are the main challenges in growing attendance and participation?
The work consisted of a documentation review, statistical analysis and a consultation with various stakeholders in the field.
