In 2017, the Folk On The Rocks music festival in Long Lake, NWT presented fresh programming that reached many people.

A major presenter in the Northwest Territories

The 37th Folk On The Rocks Festival (14-16 July 2017) once again affirmed its importance in its community by offering more than 73 performances and workshops. The event, held a few kilometers outside Yellowknife, attracted thousands of people.

A larger audience thanks to diverse programming

Despite its name, the festival does not restrict itself to folk music, but programs a wide range of genres—hip-hop, bluegrass, traditional, soul and even Bollywood-type rock! After conducting a survey of its attendees’ music tastes in 2016, the festival adopted an eclectic approach, supported by a huge promotional campaign and a new brand-image.
