Visual Arts Nova Scotia Offers Emerging Artists Training
Visual Arts Nova Scotia offers a four-month program for new graduates to help them transition to life as a professional artist.
Tools for visual arts graduates
Visual Arts Nova Scotia’s New Grad Assistance Program 2020 provides new art school graduates with 14 weeks of training to help them transition to life as a professional artist. Trainees have access to creation spaces, professional development workshops, networking events, and mentorship.
Creators and entrepreneurs
The workshops focus on career management and the entrepreneurial aspect of an artist’s life. The mentoring sessions help artists who have recently finished their schooling bridge the gap between education and career. By the end of the program, trainees are equipped with useful documents to begin their careers, including a portfolio and a proposal they can include in grant applications, as well as developed networks of young artists and mentors.
