Author visits encourage literacy, bring in new library users and get people excited about reading. But touring–especially to remote communities in Canada’s North–can be expensive. Thanks to grants provided by the Canada Council, the Yellowknife Public Library was able to get the funding needed to bring three diverse Canadian authors to their community readings and community events.
